Video: Alkaline Trio Perform "Armageddon" in NYC

We had an amazing time at the Alkaline Trio/Cursive/The Dear & Departed concert at Nokia Theatre in Times Square last Friday.

Ever the punk veterans, AT played songs spanning from their 15-year career - including tracks off of most recent record This Addiction.

"This song is about waking up behind a dumpster at seven in the morning," frontman Matt Skiba told the crowd candidly, prefacing new song "Lead Poisoning."

The boys also ventured back to 2001's From Here to Infirmary, playing the dark, raging "Armageddon," and tore though mainstream hit "In Vein," which soundtracked an episode of The Hills back in 2008.

Of course, we're not ones to come back without bearing gifts.

Alicia Keys, Shakira Tapped to Perform at World Cup

Alicia Keys, Shakira and the Black Eyed Peas have been tapped to perform at the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert June 10 before the first match of the soccer World Cup in South Africa!

Other performers on the roster include John Legend and Juanes.

"Music and sports are the lifeblood of African culture," said former South African soccer player Lucas Radebe. "So to combine those in this historic event will be a true celebration of Africa."

DMX Sentenced to Six Months Behind Bars

Rapper Earl "DMX" Simmons was sentenced to six months in jail Tuesday for violating the terms of his probation.

The probation was set after the rapper failed a drug test last June - and allegedly admitted to cocaine use in a Phoenix courtroom last week.

But X's producer Dame Grease denies the allegations.

"He knows he can't use drugs 'cause he'll go to f*ckin' jail," Grease said, eloquently. "Of course, the main thing is getting him healthy. But he's been clean."

X was released from jail in May after serving three months for felony convictions of animal cruelty, drug counts and theft.

It's a great night to be a New Yorker!

Actresses Kristen Stewart (top photo) and Dakota Fanning (second photo) hit the Landmark Sunshine Cinema Wednesday night for the premiere of their latest flick, The Runaways.

Stewart's muse Joan Jett also hit the red carpet (third photo) while Victoria's Secret beauties Alessandra Ambrosio (fourth photo) and Doutzen Kroes (fifth photo), and Kirstie Allie (bottom photo), also joined in on the fun.
